$86,815 Plus Excellent Benefit, Retirement Package & Compensation Plan Distinguishing Features of this opportunity are This is an important administrative position involving total responsibility for planning, developing and directing the daily operations of the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.
This includes responsibility for establishing and facilitating program and procedural development in meeting the needs of the Animal Shelter and the public; a passion for the work is a must.
Incumbent in this class will be responsible for the administration of the shelter facilities including public relations, personnel management and financial/budgetary management.
Flexibility to work outside normal business hours required as necessary.
Duties are performed under the general supervision of the County Board of Supervisors with considerable leeway allowed in carrying out day to day operations of the shelter.
Supervision is exercised, or delegated, over all staff and volunteers.
This employee ensures that the animals and clients are being served efficiently by a cooperative, good natured group of staff members and volunteers.
Incumbent will perform related work as required.
Typical illustrative work activities will include, but are not limited to Administers Saratoga County policies and procedures for Animal Shelter staff; Administers the daily operations of the shelter in accordance with Federal and State regulations; Prepares and monitors the annual budget for the County Animal Shelter; Prepares a variety of reports and maintains detailed records of shelter operation; Oversees the care, housing, adoption, and/or disposition of un-adoptable, sick or stray animals brought to the County Animal Shelter by Animal Control Officers or animal owners; Supervises the maintenance of building facilities such as kennels, animal holding areas, clinical areas, office, storage room, and public waiting area; Provides for the disposition of unadoptable animals using humane procedures; Oversees the planning and implementation of the adoption program; Plans, schedules, trains and supervises the work of subordinate shelter staff; Provides information to civic organizations and other groups concerning shelter operations and the adoption program; Plans and organizes events with the media as well as other community agencies; Promotes a positive public opinion of the shelter through shelter tours, shelter functions and other appropriate forums; Reports monthly to the Board of Supervisor's Public Safety Committee.
Performs other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications for this position are (A) Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Accounting, Animal Science, Animal Industry or a closely related field and four (4) years of full- time experience in the operation and management of an animal care facility, veterinary office, animal shelter/kennel or related work place; two (2) years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
OR (B) Possession of an Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Accounting, Animal Science, Animal Industry or a closely related field and six (6) years of full-time experience in the operation and management of an animal care facility, veterinary office, animal shelter/kennel or related work place; two (2) years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
(Degree must have been awarded by a college or university by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the US Department of Education/US Secretary of Education.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
